Templeglantine is a small village in Co. Limerick 6 miles from Newcastle West (the home of Ballygowan pure springwater) and 5 miles from Abbeyfeale on the Route N21 Limerick to Killarney road, conveniently situated between Shannon and Kerry International Airports. Templeglantine was the birth place of John Buckley, born on 19 December 1951. A fine composer with a remarkable and original talent he now lecturers in composition and is on the staff of St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra.
County Limerick offers a majestic landscape of rolling hills and open farmland and is ideal walking and hiking terrain. The Southern Walking Trail can be joined from the village, running north to Newcastle West.
